When it comes to self-defense, make no mistake about it – you are your own first responder. Of course, you should call 911 and hope for a police response… if you can. The simple reality is that sometimes things happen so fast that you don’t have any choice, and in those times, we have no choice but to take matters into our own hands. It’s a Hollywood myth that we can just call the police and they’ll be right there.
WHEN SECONDS COUNT is the premiere training academy in the Tampa area. If you want to go beyond the basics of just getting your concealed carry permit, this is the place for you!
'GREAT NEWS! You are here, so that means you have decided to take yours and your family’s safety into your own hands. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past several years, you are well aware that now, more than ever you need to be vigilant and serious about defending yourself, and your loved ones.
How long does it actually take from the time you dial 911 for the police to arrive? It turns out that varies widely based on where you live. Most cities aim for an average response time of about five to six minutes, but the data shows that’s more of a goal than a reality in many U.S. cities. In reality, it can vary from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the reason the call was placed, where you are located, how many officers are available, how many calls are ahead of your and other determining factors.

Our next training will be held May 7th, 2022 at our office in Tampa, FL. We'll spend two intensive days learning the ins and outs of firearms, self defense scenarios and how to respond. We'll spend half of the day in the classroom and the other half at the gun range practicing what we've learned.
You'll learn how guns work, what's the difference between a revolver and semi-auto handgun, how to choose your first gun and how to apply for your Concealed Carry Permit. You'll also learn what it means to be a responsible gun owner, including storage and transporting. We also teach you how to shoot and how to hit your target.
"Simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. You could beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back. But are you prepared? You have a duty to protect yourself and your family.” Sheriff David Clarke
